When the Heppenstall Steel Mill closed
in 1979, it was a forerunner of the
general collapse of the steel industry in Pittsburgh in the
1980's, which "stole" the dreams of thousands of workers. Over the
years,
nature reclaimed the ruins. And on a sunny afternoon in September,
I stole inside and marveled at the magical garden which had resulted.
